About the Event
Trip Breifing -
The Isuzu 4x4 Club of WA is heading to Camp Qualinup for the June long weekend.
Camp Qualinup is approximately 2,000 acres of land that is owned by our Great Southern Regional Sub-Branch Coordinator Geoff McGrath. The property backs up to near Reef Beach.
The property is dominately a Goat Farm, and hosts many other animals on the property as well.
Geoff operates a small campsite on the farm that is very exclusive and at this point in time he plans to keep the campsite exclusive to our club being the only 4wd club being granted access.
Geoff is in the process of planning a custom there is a purpose built 4wd track around the property and has asked our club to be involved in the process. Geoff has an array of equipment including a Bull Dozer, Excatvator etc. so he is well geared up to making some awesome tracks for us to be able to enjoy.
There is also a dam on the property that is stocked up with Silver Perch that we will be allowed to fish in while we are there. On Sunday there will be an opportunity to go beach fishing at Reef Beach.
The Campsite is situated alongside a lake / swamp where you can go kayaking / canoeing so please feel free to bring them along if you would like to hit the water.
We will be doing some track maintenance whilst we are on the property so if you have a chainsaw please bring them along also secateurs /pruners will also come in handy. If you are planning to use a chainsaw, you will need to wear boots and long pants and either sunglasses or safety glasses must be worn at all times when using the chainsaws.
Camp Qualinup will be one of our homebase campsites for the Great Southern Region and we are really excited and we are very privileged to have access to.
